East Carson Street Historic Guidelines

The East Carson Street corridor is one of the largest Victorian Main Streets in the United States.  In order to preserve the Victorian style row houses and commercial buildings, the City of Pittsburgh incorporated the designation of the East Carson Street Historic District in 1993.

Green n'at

Our passion is to make the South Side beautiful, inviting, and green! Green n’at work includes ongoing plantings, weeding, mulching, litter clean-ups and maintenance, and long-term projects to create and revitalize green spaces in our community.

Our Mission

Founded in 1939, the South Side Community Council gives a voice to the residents of the South Side Flats neighborhood and strengthens the community by celebrating and embracing its history and its arts and cultures. Through collaboration and community partnerships, it will address the challenges facing the South Side while improving the quality of life and economic vitality of the neighborhood.
